Cupcakes edged in vanilla frosting.
Last week I was watching football on TV when the iPhone commercial came on for the App Store. Usually there's another game on so I can flip channels to avoid the commercials, but the remote had rolled under the couch so I was stuck watching the ad. When the iPhone scrolls down, they scroll past the Bomberman game. Now there's an easy baked good to do! So here we go –
Your favorite yellow cupcakes
Haribo's licorice wheels
Strawberry Milkshake Whoppers
To get the features of the cupcake ready, slice 1/4" lengths of licorice from a licorice wheel. Split the 1/4" length into halves so you have two long pieces. That'll be enough for one cupcake, so repeat for as many cupcakes as you'd like to make.
After your cupcakes have cooled, warm up your white frosting in the microwave for about 10 seconds. 1/2 cup of frosting will be enough for a dozen cupcakes.
Once it's warmed up, pour the frosting into a zip top bag and seal. Snip a tiny corner off one of the edges.
Frost around the edges of the cupcake. Place a strawberry Whopper on top edge of the cupcake.
Take one of the pieces of licorice and frost the backside. You'll just need a tiny bit of frosting for the licorice to stick.
If you'd like a sweeter cupcake, you can put a fair amount of frosting around the edges. Whatever your frosting fancy, you'll end up with bomberman cupcakes in no time at all.
